Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as a reporter and anchor at WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. O'Dell later became morning news anchor at WCBD TV and acted as an investigative reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reporting regarding the police's lenient approach to DUI cases resulted in the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in State authorities issuing the strictest guidelines regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell's work in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor and investigative reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. O'Dell anchors the main newscast for Access Hollywood. In addition she is a contributor in NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She has covered such events like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of shows that were pre-showarrivals for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted Miss America's Pageant as well as the Miss Universe Pageant.
